Born over 50 years ago in a small town in Enugu State, Emperor Chris Baywood Ibe is an entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in business development and administration.

Chris founded Baywood Continental Limited, a wholly owned Nigerian company in 1989 as Oil and Gas services Company and under his astute leadership, Baywood Continental Limited has become a reference name in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector. Driven by his unending passion for touching lives and serving humanity, he founded Baywood Foundation in 2008 initially, as a charity benefit for indigent population and other marginalized individuals. Through this platform, he provided free multidisciplinary healthcare services to various sub-urban communities within Enugu State.

In furtherance of his vision to see a poverty-free society, Chris instituted a widowhood empowerment programme as well as infrastructural development schemes, which recorded high impact in improving the economic state of these individuals. In recognition of the fact that Baywood Foundation can do more and be more, Chris, in 2014, took the initiative to incorporate the foundation as a non-governmental organization, under the Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigeria and by the State of Florida, USA.  This was to better serve the target groups by increasing the number of beneficiaries and widening the scope of help that can be rendered.

Since the incorporation of Baywood Foundation, Chris has single-handedly funded several projects, including but not limited to the construction and asphalting of the 8.5kilometre Agbogugu-Isu Awaa-Agbudu-Ihe road, community health outreaches to communities like Isu Awaa, Ihe, Ugbo, Agbogugu, Ituku and Agbudu, welfare support to special school for the deaf
in Enugu State, Relief mission to victims of Fulani herdsmen attack in Nimbo, advanced professional training for youths in Awgu local government area of Enugu State, among others. Through the Save Awgu Forum, Chris advocates for equity in governance for all persons.

Chris pursued a higher education in and completed his Quantity Surveying studies in Beograd Yugoslavia in 1987 following an in-service training sponsorship by his employer. He also an alumnus of both the Lagos Business School and the prestigious Del Carnegie institute in Canada; Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) and the Global Local content Group. Currently, he sits on the board of Baywood Dextron Ventures Ltd, ZB Joint Ventures Ltd, Tropical Arctic Logistics Ltd, Hitek Engineering and Consultancy Ltd and is a recipient of different awards including the 2014 Industry Achievement Award by PETAN, Fellow of the Institute of Administrators and Researchers and the RATTAWU distinguished award for human Empowerment.

He has been conferred with the title of Emperor by the Ancient Imperial court of Ethiopia.
